The word Halloween comes from (All) Hallow(s') E(v)en and means the evening before All Hallows' Day or All Saints Day. It is a festivity on October 31st and people usually carve pumpkins into jack-o'-lanterns, wear costumes, do trick-or-treating, go to parties, play apple bobbing, eat sweets, watch horror films...
